1986年〜1987年にかけて断続的に何回かお仕事をご一緒しました。
僕は27歳〜28歳でしたが、浪人・留年を経て卒業後もモタモタしていて社会経験がとても少ない状態での出会いで大きな衝撃を受け、その後の様々な仕事をする上で必要な多くのことを学びました。

当時、お会いする前の厳しそうなイメージとは違って非常にチャーミングな方でした。感謝しか有りません。

お手伝いした仕事（備忘録）
・映画 ラストエンペラー
坂本さんがシンセで弾いた即興をカセットテープに録音し、それを預かって10曲ほどを楽譜化。そのうちの「Rain – I Want a Divorce」とあと何曲か弦楽アレンジ。
（「5日後にロンドンでオーケストラ録音があるんだけどあと20曲以上あるんだ」と笑っていたのが衝撃的でした。ずっと後から自分も「演劇の通し稽古まであと1週間なのにまだ15曲ある」というようなことにちょくちょくなったんですが、このときのことをよく思い出していました）
・CM音楽録音のディレクション
坂本さんが録音開始時刻にスタジオ入りできないので、到着までの間に弦楽合奏の録音をディレクション。
・上記とは別のCM音楽の制作（スタジオでシンセの録音）の見学。（後で生楽器録音の編曲とディレクションをしてもらうかもしれないから見に来て、と言われて）
・大阪 ABC放送 番組終了時の音楽のオーケストラ編曲
・演奏会 Playing the Orchestra 1988 オーケストラ編曲
「戦場のメリークリスマス・テーマ（共同アレンジ）」の他、10曲ほど。この仕事の際の資料写真を下記の2枚目にアップしました。

We worked together intermittently on several occasions between 1986 and 1987, an encounter that had a huge impact on me as a 27-28 year old with little social experience. I was able to learn many lessons that I needed in my various subsequent jobs.He was very charming, unlike the image I had before meeting him. I have nothing but gratitude.

Mr. Sakamoto recorded his improvisations on a cassette tape, which he played on a synthesizer, and we kept the tape and notated about 10 songs. We arranged “Rain – I Want a Divorce” for strings.

Since Mr. Sakamoto could not arrive at the studio at the time of recording, we directed the recording until his arrival.

I arranged Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence theme (co-arrangement) and about 10 other pieces.
